A new historical RPG, The Way of Cossack has entered the beta-stage. Poland has invaded the Ukraine, and its your job as Taras Bulba – a true warrior, a true Cossack – to lead your local militia in battle and throw out the Polish invaders! The game is also based on the classic novel by Nikolai Gogol, another instance of a book being adapted into a game.

Some features of the game include the following:

• Horse mounts, mounted battles and opponents
• 7 large locations filled with adventures and quests
• 18 unique characters
• Over 40 quests to complete
• 3 types of weapons used in different circumstances (light, heavy and firepower)
• Spectacular environmental effects, day/night cycles

A tentative release date has been scheduled for the 2nd Quarter of 2009.
