When I first heard Jars of Clay, I was riding in a 15 passenger van with 18 other people, traveling to Searcy, Arkansas for Bible Bowl. When the driver said, “How bout some music?” I cringed, thinking he was going to put in the Songs of the Church acapella tape we’d listened to five times in a row already. When he popped in a CD, I was impressed. When the sounds coming from the speaker were undeniably rock, I thought he had lost his mind. It turns out that there are Christian bands that rock- literally! From that day on, I’ve been a fan of Jars of Clay and encourage anyone who hasn’t had a chance to check them out to do it this week!
