If you haven’t seen Doubt yet, you’re missing out. Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman give powerful, moving performances that highlight their incredible talents. Amy Adams shows her serious side through a nearly perfect performance as the unfortunate sister stuck between two strong-willed superiors. Although the subject matter is controversial and the film boasts more than a lot of symbolism, it is easily one of the best movies of 2008.

Also new this week on DVD:
1.Bedtime Stories
2.The Tale of Despereaux
3.Day the Earth Stood Still (Two-Disc Widescreen Edition)
4.Yes Man (Single-Disc Edition)
5.Not Easily Broken

New on Blu-ray this week:
1.2010: The Year We Make Contact [Blu-ray]
2.American History X [Blu-ray]
3.Tango & Cash [Blu-ray]
4.Taking Lives [Blu-ray]
5.The Wedding Singer [Blu-ray]

You’re welcome, of course! I will give you the teeny- tiniest spoiler, though.. The tremendous use of symbolism in this movie does leave you having to draw your own conclusions about what really happened here. Good flick, though. I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks Ellen. I wasn’t sure if this would be a good one as it didn’t last in the theathers very long.
