DVD New Releases: March 17

Time to pre-order!  March 17th brings the long awaited release of the Twilight DVD! If you couldn’t get enough Robert Pattinson in his small role as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter films, here’s your chance to soak him up. The movie, adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s thrilling novel, tells the story of unlikely love between a young girl and (gasp!) a handsome vampire. Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart) has just moved to remote Forks, Washington to live with her father when she meets Edward. He is gorgeous, intelligent and deep- too good to be true. He’s real alright, but he’s got a dark secret that’s about to change Bella’s life forever. Her teenage love is a vampire. (And not a teenager- he hasn’t aged since 1918.)

Bella quickly becomes immersed in a world she never imagined could exist. While the Cullen family is certainly different from the ‘typical’ vampire coven since they don’t drink human blood, there are those that are willing (and eager) to take human life for sport.  When some other vampires come calling, Edward must fight to protect Bella from their blood-thirsty hunt. (Literally.) A twisted, modern Romeo and Juliet romance- Twilight is sure to quench your thirst.

Come on my man, what are you waiting for — your eyes DEMAND the high def goodness that only Sony can provide. All the cool kids are doing it, jump on the bandwagon!

Ehh. Streaming HD I think will take over and BluRay will die out in a year or Two. And unless I can get a player cheaper than they are now I dont see the point in Buying one. Progressive Scanning DVD’s will do me fine for now. And with All the HD Content I have on ATT U-VERSE, and HD VOD Movies I really dont see the point lol I have just as much selection via VOD, and Not to Mention Movie Rentals via the XBOX 360 that are HD.

I might jump the Band Wagon later on. But right now Saving up money for our Brave trip to Mexico in April :)

You mean your “we’re crazy to go to Mexico now” trip to Mexico? ;-)

You have a good point about the VOD, though. Aside from RedBox, 90% of our movie watching is done via some form of on demand service. I think the pundits are right by guessing that the “last disc” is probably BluRay.

Heh yea We’re Crazzzzy We are going to Cozumel So Hopefully the bad people will stay away.

As for the Last Disc I agree. Now Having said that, I do believe that BluRay Generation 2 will be a Kick butt Long Term Back up Disc. The Dye used in Generation 2 BluRay is claimed to last over 100 Years. BluRay will be around a while I Think. But It wont be for Movies. Just File Storage.

I’m not going to lie, folks. I’ve read the books twice now and have watched the movie a good 10 times. It’s such a fresh, creative take on vampires!

The DVD is cooler than the theatre movie because you can own it!
